Current Rehearsal Calendar

REHEARSALS

During our regular season, (usually September - May)  rehearsals for our events are held on Tuesday evenings from 7:30  - 9 pm at Bethel Congregational Church 536 N Euclid Ave, Ontario CA 91762. Entrance for rehearsals is at rear of building (off parking lot, up ramp). 

Each event has a unique schedule, usually beginning several weeks prior to performance.

AMAHL and the NIGHT VISITORS*

Principal rehearsals are in progress, and we begin Amahl chorus rehearsals immediately following MESSIAH. We  begin our Tuesday evening rehearsals on Tuesday November 28th (7:30pm at Bethel). We intend to offer some Saturday rehearsals as well,

Michal Dawson Connor is our artistic/stage director (and our “Balthazar”), AND is working with the chorus early in the preparation process, so that when we get to our final preparations, we are having fun, will be able to be “off book”, and will know exactly when/where to move/stand, etc….

PRINCIPAL CAST ONLY  REHEARSALS

  • Fridays 12 - 2pm (with Michal Dawson Connor)
  • Wednesday Dec 27 1-3pm - PRINCIPALS at Bethel (Staging with piano) 

REHEARSALS for Chorus (All at Bethel):

  • Tuesdays, 7:30 – 9pm: November 28: Dec 5, 12, 19, 26; 
  • Tuesday Jan 2.  7:30 - 10pm 
  • Dec. 23 - 10am - 12pm - Bethel
  • Dec. 30 - 1pm – 2:30 or 3pm  - Bethel.

PRODUCTION WEEK SUMMARY: 

  • Saturday Dec 30, 1pm – 2:30pm: Chorus with piano with Dr. Mann. (Orchestra will be doing an orchestra only rehearsal from 9:30am - 12noon)
  • Tuesday Jan 2, 7:30 - 10pm: Chorus with orchestra. 7:30 - 10pm 
  • Wednesday Jan 3, 7:30 - 10pm: Principals with Orchestra  (NO CHORUS)
  • Thursday Jan 4 7:30 - 10pm: Chorus  with piano (NO ORCHESTRA)
  • Friday Jan 5, 7:30 - 10pm Tutti Rehearsal with Orchestra
  • Saturday Jan 6: DRESS REHEARSAL 1pm - 3:30pm 
  • Sunday Jan 7 - Early Call for Chorus 2:30 (doors will open to public by 3pm, but chorus will need to have a brief warmup with piano)

The SSO Chorus is accepting new members in all voice categories!

The chorus is a volunteer organization, open to all singers. (A voice placement audition may be required of new members.)
